Aberration

Aberration, a deviation from normality, whether in development or behavior. A chromosomal aberration is a deviation in the number or constitution of the chromosomes (the tiny units containing the genes which determine and govern inherited physical and mental characteristics). In psychiatry, aberration refers to emotional distrubances.
